DAY ONE · DESCEND INTO THE CANYON

Into the heart of Colca.

Arequipa → Cruz del Cóndor → San Juan de Chuccho → Sangalle Oasis

    Early departure from your accommodation.

  2. Drive to the Colca Valley

    Approximately 3.5 hours through the Andes.

  3. Chivay · Breakfast stop

    Breakfast and a short break · approximately 30 minutes.

  4. Scenic drive

    Continue toward the canyon · approximately 45 minutes.

  5. Mirador Cruz del Cóndor

    Condor viewpoint, photos and a guided visit · approximately 30 minutes.

  6. Colca Canyon

    Enjoy the canyon scenery before beginning the descent.

  7. Transfer to Cabanaconde

    Approximately 15 minutes.

  8. Cabanaconde

    Brief stop before starting the hike · approximately 10 minutes.

  9. Hike to San Juan de Chuccho

  4. Maca, Caylloma

    Traditional village and photo stop · approximately 10 minutes.

  5. Drive to Chacapi

    Approximately 20 minutes.

  6. Chacapi Hot Springs

    Optional thermal baths and rest · approximately 1 hour.

  7. Continue to Chivay

    Approximately 15 minutes.

  8. Chivay · Lunch

  9. Return journey

    Travel toward Arequipa through the high Andes.

  10. Mirador de los Volcanes

    Optional photo stop at the volcano viewpoint · approximately 10 minutes.

  11. Salinas y Aguada Blanca Reserve

    Look out for llamas, alpacas and vicuñas along the route.

  12. Arequipa · Tour ends

    Return in the late afternoon, around 5:30 p.m., subject to conditions.
